Welcome Spring and Happy Anniversary to us! I should wax poetic about marriage, but I won’t. My husband and daughter are not here with me to celebrate. They are visiting family for the weekend as planned and I stayed behind. Before you feel to bad for me, at least I got some beautiful flowers! 🙂
After much ripping and redoing, I have finally finished the scrap yarn bag I started a few weeks ago. The original pattern was a modification of an Attic24 pattern, switching out the separate handles to create a one piece bag. I love the way it came out and don’t think this photo does it justice, the colors are beautiful together and it is the perfect size.
So guess how I spent my weekend alone? I went to the yarn store of course! I found this amazing, cotton/acrylic blend that feels like linen. It was what they call “mill ends”, which are remnants of larger spools. It is a double strand of lace weight yarn. I think it will be perfect for a summer kimono, wrap or fly-away cardigan. The fiber will breathe and keep me cool. I had to buy two pounds of it, but its such a gauzy dream, I didn’t mind. Now I just need to find the right pattern!
I also spent a lot of quiet time with this gorgeous sweetheart. We brought her home from the shelter a little less than a year ago and now I can’t imagine my life without her.
When she isn’t being a couch potato or begging to play fetch, she is dragging me around the neighborhood, which is full of spring flowers like this stunning magnolia.
Dogs and the outdoors are the remedy for just about everything, aren’t they?
As soon as I post this, I am off to do the taxes. Lucky me. I have been procrastinating for weeks and really should do it while the house is still quiet.
I hope you all have a wonderful week.
