Share Your World – January 15, 2018

Here are the questions and my answers for this week’s Share Your World Challenge by Cee’s Blog.

Complete this sentence: I’m looking forward to….

I am looking forward to the spring. January and February are particularly gray and dismal around these parts and always has me craving the sunshine, the sounds of birds, daffodils and the color green that slowly creeps in. It’s funny how it feels like spring is so far away, so perpetually distant, but it is really just around the corner!

What is your favorite comfort snack food?

Peanut butter…on bananas, with apples, by the spoonful, on a rice cake…just give me peanut butter. I am trying the no-sugar added peanut butter at the moment, the only ingredient is peanuts. It isn’t terrible, but I do miss the smoothness of the junky kind with palm oil and sugar.

What was one of your first moneymaking jobs (other than babysitting or newspaper delivery)?

I worked the front counter at a dry cleaners. My only real memories of my time there were how the owner creeped me out regularly with his lingering eyes and the smell of a hot iron and plastic bags. You would be  amazed at what people left in their pockets!!

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?

One of my goals for the new year is to spend less time on Facebook. I don’t particularly like Facebook, in fact I kind of hate it, but it is so easy to get sucked in and at times, I feel addicted to it. That pull to go visit for “just a quick check”, which easily turns in to a 45 minute time suck. Last week I was able to avoid it for the most part. I was so busy with my new class and getting ready for our homeschool review this coming Friday, that when I had a free moment, I spent it crocheting and listening to a book. So I appreciated my resolve, but mostly, I appreciated the way I felt without Facebook.
